From the moment you walk in to Desert Nail Spa, you feel welcomed. Owners Kevin and Karen Pham offer a friendly greeting and make sure that your experience is a great one from start to finish. Kevin and his family escaped their native Vietnam by boat in 1981, arriving in the U.S. without a dime. He watched his parents work hard to make a living and in 1998 he borrowed money from friends and family to open his first nail salon in Tempe. In 2002, he and his wife and mother relocated to the Kierland Village Center location, and this November marks the opening of their second location at Tatum & Shea Boulevard! The hip décor and relaxing spa atmosphere draw people from both the nearby resorts and the neighborhood.
“Karen makes a point of getting to know our customers by name, what services they like, how they like things done.” As a neighborhood business, they have loyal customers who stay with them from having a little polish put on for Kindergarten graduation, clear through to weddings and “girls’ dates” with mom, daughter, and grandma. Because Kevin and Karen are very selective about the nail technicians they hire, customers know they can count on a wonderful experience and keep coming back for more.
At Desert Nail Spa, they also take cleanliness very seriously. All instruments are run through a sterilization machine and sealed into bags after each use. Their comfortable foot spa chairs are state of the art and designed for easy cleaning to ensure that you are putting your feet into water that is clean and sanitary. They pride themselves on being the cleanest salon in town, which enables you to sit back, relax and enjoy being pampered.
